Bubba Brothers are stars on the rise. With more than half a decade of experience under their belt, this impressive duo hailing from Portugal are definitely worthy to follow up close. Their characteristic sound and signature style have earned them praise, allowing them to feature their music on major charts like the Beatport Top 40, as well as perform at iconic venues like Ministry of Sound in London, and Es Paradis in Ibiza. This duo is certainly showing no signs of slowing down.
Their latest release, an EP titled ‘Basstribe’ has surely reached a large audience eager to dance to the unparalleled Bubba Brothers’ groove.
They sat down with us to walk us through the behind-the-scenes of their latest production, and told us more about what’s in store for the near future.
Hello Bubba Brothers, how are you?
Hi Guys 
all good. Thanks for this opportunity.
What was the inspiration behind your latest EP ‘Basstribe’?
Well we wanted to keep up on one hand with our tribal sounds but at the same launch something ‘raw’ House…so that’s how we ended up with ‘Tribe’ and ‘Bass’ as tracks, and the name ‘Basstribe’ for the EP. Easy one
Are there specific musical influences for each track?
Not really influences, more like musical goals that we established, and we think it ended up being pretty good.
How long did it take you to finish the EP?
More or less 6 months to make it sound as we wanted.
Did you experiment with new sounds or processes when working on ‘Basstribe’?
Not really…we kept the same workflow and processes as per previous releases.
How does this release differ from your previous work?
I think ‘Tribe’ is a very strong, aggressive (in a good sense), Tribal track and ‘Bass’ is like this going back to the roots pure House. I think we kept the tracks very ‘raw’ and (c)lean.
How would you describe the EP to someone who hasn’t listened to it yet?
It’s a very catchy, danceable sound we have here…if you listen to this and don’t feel like moving… then something must be wrong with you!
Which new sounds or genres would you like to try in the future?
We’re going to do some Progressive/Melodic House real soon, just because we feel like doing something out of our normal musical trends. So, stay tuned.
Are there any exciting upcoming releases or performances?
We are going on a small Ibiza Tour, playing in Es Paradis on the 18th of September, live on radio Ibiza Sonica on the 18th and play at Tantra on the 20th.
On the 25th we are going to celebrate our 8th anniversary at Fantastic Rooftop Eva and with a legend as a special guest: OXIA. Oh man, we are very excited about this!
